Welcome to our induction Capoeira course information in
North West London.
Capoeira is a unique martial art that encompasses dance, music, fight, ritual, history, culture and Acrobatics. At Amazonas you will be introduced to the different aspects of capoeira that have fascinated many people and many cultures for the last 500 years. We give you a more individualised training session that focuses not only on the martial art aspect; but will also explore the mental agility/improvisation aspects - enabling you to find your own space within the game of capoeira.
Capoeira is un-questionably one of the most fascinating components of Brazilian Culture - blending music, dance, martial arts, philosophy and spirituality. We hope that the induction course will be your first step on a journey towards a better understanding of yourself, and above all we hope that you will enjoy every minute of it!
What the course involves
At this course you will be introduced to the movements of capoeira, whilst simultaneously increasing your strenght, flexibility, balance and co-ordination. You will also be taught a structured approach for doing some of the basic acrobatic movements associated with capoeira
.
If possible please try to wear loose trousers and light-soled flat shoes to your first class. Long hair should be tied back, and please try to avoid wearing glasses. You may also want to bring some drinking water with you.
If you have no experience in capoeira or think you may need to start again from the beginning, these classes are for you. They are taught in a slow, step by step manner to allow students to understand the technique and footwork of capoeira, as well as to develop the flexibility, strength and stamina required. You don’t need to book this course as the courses are instructed in the same level throughout the 6 sessions, which means you can start any Thursday or Saturday.
Our induction prices
The cost for our induction courses is £40 for six sessions to be paid in advance or on the first day you start the course (all fees are non refundable). Classes are every Thursday from 7.00-8.00pm at Hargrave Park School in Archway or Saturday from 3.30pm-4.30pm at Soho Gym in Camden Town. Please note that this is two separate courses; you have a choice to do either Thursdays or Saturdays

What should I do once I finished this course?
Once you have finished our induction classes you will be entitled
to one month free membership which allows you to pay for your classes
at a member’s price. Very cheap!
On completion of our induction course, we will provide you with all the information regarding our class’s price, membership, what class levels you should attend, days, times, and venues.
We advice induction students at the completion of this course to attend class’s level
0-1, the teachers will advice what class level you should move on.
